{"id":148,"date":"2016-04-26T18:49:07","date_gmt":"2016-04-26T23:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/david.klamet.net\/blog\/?page_id=148"},"modified":"2016-04-26T18:49:07","modified_gmt":"2016-04-26T23:49:07","slug":"in-plain-sight-the-rules","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/david.klamet.net\/blog\/in-plain-sight-the-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"In Plain Sight: The &#8220;rules&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long ago I had a blog that was visible on the Lawrence Journal World website.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ljworld.com\/weblogs\/in-simple-words\/\">In Simple Words<\/a>, which was, ironically, mostly photos.<\/p>\n<p>In it, I published a series of posts that I referred to as &#8220;In Plain Sight&#8221;. In these posts, I would publish photos of a prominent&#8211;or sometimes not&#8211;landmark in the Lawrence area.\u00a0 Viewers were invited to try and guess the location or subject of the photo.<\/p>\n<p>Wait a minute!<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t quite that easy.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t publish the whole photo at first. On the first day, I only a small section of the photo was visible. On subsequent days, larger and larger parts of the photo were available.<\/p>\n<p>It has a small, but loyal, following. I had a lot of fun and posted pretty reliably for the better part of two years.\u00a0 Other commitments interered, but it was a lot of fun.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I work downtown and as I wonder around the area, the itch has started.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t have the visibility that the front page of the LJW once game me, but I think I&#8217;ll be posting some photos regardless of the response.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long ago I had a blog that was visible on the Lawrence Journal World website.\u00a0 In Simple Words, which was, ironically, mostly photos.
